At the Vienna Opera Ball on February 15, 2007, a hilarious contrast between the alpha and omega of contemporary standards of beauty.

Anna Netrebko‘s latest triumph is her Juliette in Charles Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette, performed at the Met and broadcast this past December 14.
Here she is in the famous Act I waltz, from a March 2007 concert at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées:

Literally, “My lips kiss with such fire”, from Giuditta, Franz Lehár’s last stage work, and his only successful opera after a career of hit operettas.
From September 8, 2007, Anna Netrebko sings on the fabled Last Night Of The Proms at Royal Albert Hall, accompanied by BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jiří Bělohlávek.

Anna Netrebko nails the Olympic women’s triathlon of Italian opera, the last ten minutes of the first act of Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata: “Ah, fors’è lui” followed by “Follie! Delirio vano è questo!”, concluding with “Sempre libera”. Briefly accompanied by her best-known operatic partner, Rolando Villazón.

Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazón celebrate the happy occasion 😉
From a brilliant Salzburg Festival production of Verdi’s La Traviata. (I watched this several times before I realized that half the chorus is women in drag.)

Good news from Parterre Box, my favorite opera blog: Rolando Villazón, Anna Netrebko’s best-known opeartic partner, is returning to public performance after a four-month hiatus caused by vocal problems.
To celebrate, excerpts from a delicious Netrebko/Villazón pairing in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’amore, with the chorus and orchestra of the Vienna Staatsoper conducted by Alfred Eschwe. Above, the peasant Nemorino (Villazón) sings of the beauty of the fair Adina (Netrebko): “Quanto è bella, quanto è cara”
Do they make them “like that” any more? July 27, 2006

Vodpod videos no longer available.
Judging from this clip of Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazón from the first act of Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, I would have to say yes.
